The essence of The Case


The Kappes family took over The Case in 1986 when it was just a quiet country establishment. They had already had years of experience in good food and service at their last restaurant " Truly Scrumptious" in Essex. They had new and big ideas and soon this once quiet pub was a thriving A La Carte Restaurant. For more than ten years the success mounted, until one winter evening when floods engulfed the restaurant and neighbouring villages and then everything changed. The whole family were devastated it looked like all was lost, but like true visionaries they took this disaster and turned it in to a new start, with the help of their son, Antony, friends and family the restaurant was set to be one of the best things that would happen to them. When they reopened in September 2000 people could not wait to try the new, sleek and stylish addition to the area.
The business was booming and the family could not have been happier, but they wanted more as they were always being asked if they had accommodation. This kick started the chain of events which lead to the Garden room, but in their hearts they still longed for bedrooms, it wasn't easy and after months of hard work the planning was passed and their dreams where becoming reality, they could not have been happier. So these rooms are the product of a family's love and determination.They trust you will enjoy your stay.
